How to get your first 100 Platinum in Warframe (free)

June 10, 2026 2 min read

Platinum is Warframe's premium currency, but you don't need to pay for it: players can trade it. This guide takes you from 0 to your first 100 Platinum by selling what you already farm.

1. Where platinum comes from

Platinum is only created when someone buys it with real money, but it circulates freely between players through trading. You earn it by selling tradeable items: prime parts, mods, arcanes, relics and rivens.

Golden rule: don't sell to an NPC what a player would pay platinum for.

2. What to sell early on

The most accessible items for a new account:

  • Prime parts from relics (Lith, Meso, Neo, Axi). Parts of popular Prime Warframes and weapons sell themselves.
  • Syndicate mods and rare mods that drop from enemies.
  • Aya / Ayatan sculptures you find in missions.

You don't need the "best" item — lots of small sales add up fast.

3. Use warframe.market to price items

Before listing, check the real price:

  1. Search the item on warframe.market.
  2. Look at the sell orders sorted by price.
  3. List 1 platinum below the cheapest seller who is online.

That way you show up first and sell faster. Don't undersell: if the floor is 15p, don't dump it at 5p.

4. Tips to sell faster

  • Keep Trade chat open and repost every so often.
  • Reply quickly to WTB (want to buy) messages.
  • Sell full sets when you can — they're worth more than loose parts.
  • Trade in your dojo or the buyer's.

5. Reinvest

With your first 100p you can buy warframe/weapon slots, Forma, or reactors/catalysts when on sale — exactly what speeds up your early progression.
